Dont just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful. Balanced means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in good order.

There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same is with life where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not meant to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up? .

It's ok, bunk a few classes, scoring low in couple of papers, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love, little fights with your spouse. We are people, not programmed devices........." :)

It's half past 8 in the office but the lights are still on...
PCs still running, coffee machines still buzzing...
And who's at work? Most of them ??? Take a closer look...

All or most specimens are ??
Something male species of the human race...

Look closer... again all or most of them are bachelors...

And why are they sitting late? Working hard? No way!!!
Any guesses???
Let's ask one of them...
Here's what he says... "What's there 2 do after going home...Here we get to surf, AC, phone, food, coffee that is why I am working late...Importantly no bossssssss!!!!!!!!!!!"

This is the scene in most research centers and software companies and other off-shore offices.

Bachelors "Time-passing" during late hours in the office just bcoz they say they've nothing else to do...
Now what r the consequences...

"Working" (for the record only) late hours soon becomes part of the institute or company culture.

With bosses more than eager to provide support to those "working" late in the form of taxi vouchers, food vouchers and of course good feedback, (oh, he's a hard worker... goes home only to change..!!).
They aren't helping things too...

To hell with bosses who don't understand the difference between "sitting" late and "working" late!!!

Very soon, the boss start expecting all employees to put in extra working hours.

So, My dear Bachelors let me tell you, life changes when u get married and start having a family... office is no longer a priority, family is... and
That's when the problem starts... b'coz u start having commitments at home too.

For your boss, the earlier "hardworking" guy suddenly seems to become a "early leaver" even if u leave an hour after regular time... after doing the same amount of work.

People leaving on time after doing their tasks for the day are labelled as work-shirkers...

Girls who thankfully always (its changing nowadays... though) leave on time are labelled as "not up to it". All the while, the bachelors pat their own backs and carry on "working" not realizing that they r spoiling the work culture at their own place and never realize that they would have to regret at one point of time.

So what's the moral of the story??
* Very clear, LEAVE ON TIME!!!
* Never put in extra time " unless really needed "
* Don't stay back unnecessarily and spoil your company work culture which will in turn cause inconvenience to you and your colleagues.

There are hundred other things to do in the evening..

Learn music...

Learn a foreign language...

Try a sport... TT, cricket.........

Importantly,get a girl friend or boy friend, take him/her around town...

* And for heaven's sake, net cafe rates have dropped to an all-time low (plus, no fire-walls) and try cooking for a change.

Take a tip from the Smirnoff ad: *"Life's calling, where are you??"*

Please pass on this message to all those colleagues and please do it before leaving time, don't stay back till midnight to forward this!!!

IT'S A TYPICAL INDIAN MENTALITY THAT WORKING FOR LONG HOURS MEANS VERY HARD WORKING & 100% COMMITMENT ETC.

PEOPLE WHO REGULARLY SIT LATE IN THE OFFICE DON'T KNOW TO MANAGE THEIR TIME. SIMPLE !

'You've got to find what you love,' Jobs says



This is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.

The first story is about connecting the dots.

I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?

It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.

And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.

It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:

Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.

None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.

Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

My second story is about love and loss.

I was lucky — I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation — the Macintosh — a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me — I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.

I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

My third story is about death.

When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything — all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.

I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.

This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope its the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.

Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

MUSINGS OF LOST SOUL

STATUTORY WARNING:
Anyone who has spent his/her entire time mugging mindless stuff in a college is forewarned about reading the following material. It can really prove hazardous. And yes, I really mean it! And no blame should be attached to me for any unwanted results that may follow on account of your unwarranted indiscretion and pretension of false bravado.

A day in life of a jobless engg student:
For it is an observation of a guy who has almost completed his 4 years in an engineering college pondering over the question, “WHAT AM I DOING HERE?”, again and again and never has he been able to find any answer to the aforesaid question. His quest for even a little bit of info on his query has been relentless and at times have been provided with certain responses, which, to say the least , have been nothing short of being hysterical and some others that even casually tend to question his very existence. In fact, I should never have affixed jobless before engineering student because it is an accepted fact that most of us have nothing else to do in our life than to just go through the daily grind of being in a college because we were condemned to do so.
DAYBREAK:
Attendance is such a major issue here that even insomniacs, which, most of the guys here turn out to be in due course of time, pull up their socks and manage to turn up for their classes, despite the humongous adversities that they have to face here in course of their existence. Kudos to these brave souls! The daybreak, as people prefer to call here, of an ordinary student here happens at most half an hour before the actual class schedule, which, in some cases can happen even at the scheduled time. Then there is the perennial battle for reaching the classes in time, which, incidentally ends up in a losing cause more often than not, much to our joy and, unfortunately, to great consternation for the hapless prof. But, again, a word of caution. Yes he is hapless, but, only till he allows us to enter the class. But it only takes a shake of his head or, in some cases, a complete indifference to our repeated pleas and we never lose a moment to turn him into a villain. People turn back, heading to the canteen with curses in their minds and expletives on their lips, though muted in front of him but, quite loud and imaginative in nature when he is not in sight. Though it is altogether a different matter that some of them somehow even manage to be late for the next class as well!! But again, if he allows us to enter the class, which, often is the case then an altogether new struggle begins.

HOW TO SPEND TIME IN HIS CLASS?
If the prof is strict, then this task becomes all the more difficult. As always, there are numerous ways to solve this problem. The best is to study and seriously follow what he says. Sorry guys, don’t fret , I was just trying to be humorous ;)
Enjoying the outside scenery is one of the best options but, there is a catch. How often the blooming flowers appear is not in anybody’s control. One has to be on the constant lookout for even a trace and hope that luck is on your side. But, sooner or later, one gets bored and in the process finds new ways to spend time. SMSing, browsing net on one’s handsets and of course, gossiping are some of the other ways in vogue. Somehow, someway one always manages to find topics for gossip. Indulge in that and the period gets over in a jiffy.
But, above all, there is a time tested method that has the potential to come in handy for your entire life. Sleeping with your eyes split wide open, in my opinion, is the best way and coming from a man who has been a leading exponent of this art for so long, be rest assured, this will never fail you. Provided, that you are relentless in its practice. Your body is there, in its most attentive posture, in front of the speaker but to your great joy, your mind is free to wander wherever it wants. You can build castles in the air, fulfill all your ambitions and get to be a champ! Where else do you get to fulfill so many of your desires without even making a semblance of any physical effort? A truly enlightening and enchanting experience! The only prerequisite to experiencing such unhindered joy is to close your ears to those envious souls, who blinded by jealousy condemn this wonderful talent as heresy and love to slander it with titles such as ‘daydreaming’, ‘absentmindedness’ etc etc. One has to be really strong-hearted to prevent oneself from falling prey to the devious designs of such lunatics.

Of course, in between you have a periodic intervention called lunch which, over a period of time becomes more of a ritual than a time to unwind, just a routine part of the grind.


EVENING:
The best part the day is the very moment the classes get over. What a relief! Some head straight to the joint, have a quick fag while haggling over the day’s events amongst themselves. Then comes the most interesting part of the day. Except for a few dedicated souls rest always find time to loiter around in the campus till girls are around. I really need to make two points clear at this juncture. By dedicated I’m referring to guys who are dedicated to such so called frivolities of life as gaming, movies and the most common one, sleeping. Nothing else matters to these dedicated fellows once they have realized their sole purpose of existence here and their dedication is unmatched. Coming to the topic of girls, not every guy walks around the campus with them but a large number of them indulge in an ever-thriving form of art called ‘bird watching’. Requiring no previous practice, all one needs to be guided by any well acclaimed expert as to where one can find good species in large numbers. Add to that liberal doses of unabashed male bravado and suddenly you metamorphose into a self professed expert. But the bubble bursts soon enough and you somehow manage to drag yourselves back to the hostel. Pockets empty, and you are left with no other choice but to undergo the process of dining in hostel mess. Cribbing about everything, you somehow enter the mess but the sight of the same drab mess food leaves you with a sudden desire to run out of sight. More often than not you give in to your impulse and depending on the state of your finances and the time of the month you begin to examine various options. Besides, one has to keep in mind the weekend expenses and the days which turn into nightmares if you are idiotic enough to eat in the mess on those days.

THE DAY BEGINS:
Yes, the universal truth! When the whole world goes to sleep, the day begins for us. For, we are the creatures of the dark!! Its ok yaar, I’ll stop exaggerating. But it is an accepted fact that for engineering students of all species, nerds and also-rans alike, the day begins at the same time. Only their nature of work differs. But not every man can be a sage. Isn’t it? Gaming and watching movies, seasons and some other ‘stuff’ seem to be the most common activities during this time. But, of course there are some adventurous souls, who never miss an opportunity to get high and for them every night is a big party. There are periodic interventions in the name of exams, but more about it later on. For, the art of passing exams with just one night of preparation is an epic in itself!

PS: there’s more to life than just books. But what can you do when this ‘more’ becomes ‘too much’ and you fail to strike a balance between fun and getting education?
I’ve stopped thinking about it. My degree is almost over.

Aikosigns : LOGO DESIGNS

Well here are the few Logo's and Website Headers designed by me: All the designs were designed by Aikala Prajwal Shetty D and some of them are bought by the clients, so all the copyrights are reserved either to the logo designer or the client, besides all logos are watermarked !


1. Client Website/Name : Devenir Artiste



 
Client wanted a simple and elegant look with a ribbon and aura finish. This was the first version of the logo design by Aikosigns, later versions are not shown here.

2. Client Website/Name : Iced Coffee

 
Iced Coffee is the name of the clients business, No particular instructions were given at the design style, just the name was designed with web 2.0 touch. 

3. Client Website/Name : Oully.com 


Oully.com is the website and JC Varghas is the site owner and contest holder.
Instructions were quite simple, just the site name and was told its a musical social network.
This logo is one of my favorite and most enjoyed one !
To add more to the fact, i won 25$ prize money for this design !
The website is still under construction and will soon feature the logo designed by Aikosigns !

4. Client Website/Name: travelwine.co.uk 

 
 No particular instructions, just the name and new web 2.0 looks.


5. Client Website/Name : Attendance Management System

 

Simple and document header designed by aikosigns for a group of students in college.

6. Client Website/Name : Touchyourad.com

Well to tell you the fact, this is my first won logo design and the first one to be designed under the brand name Aikosigns ! 10$ was the prize money, the logo is featured in the website currently.

7. Client Website/Name : SRI Web Technologies

 
An experimental logo design, SRI is designed with samskritha letters ! The contest holder was a spammer :)

8. Client Website/Name: Oz

 
 
Simple isn't it ? Elegant and web 2.0 designed by me.


9. Client Website/Name : TVRipple.com

 
One of my favorite logo design, and a latest one from Aikosigns !

So the saga of web logo designs still continues and in future Aikosigns will design high quality professional designs ! Aikosigns will surely 'Design your future...'

Finally its out !...Apple Inc. releases the world’s first Multi-Touch mouse, comes with many features and built-in capabilities.


 
As they(Apple) say:

Resources for VTU Students

Aikosigns has taken a new step towards gathering all the important contents and resources into one place for Engineering students of VTU Colleges.

The pdf's, text books in ebook formats, seminar materials, documents, syllabus copies, engineering semester subject resources, Model question papers, old engineering semester papers of VTU, lab manuals, VTU exam time tables, official documents and press releases from VTU, and all engineering subject text books in pdf format for all branches of engineering (Mechanical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Information Science, and BioTechnology) is documented in this blog post.

Tweak UI in Windows XP

Here are the tweaks and shortcuts you can adapt in your Windows XP OS :

Press Win+L to switch to the Welcome screen.

Press Win+L to lock your workstation.

You can switch users without going through the Welcome screen:  From Task Manager, go to the Users tab, right-click a user, and select Connect.
-----
Hold down the shift key in the shutdown dialog to change "Stand By" to "Hibernate".  Or just press H to hibernate instantly.  You can even use the Power Control Panel to configure your power button to hibernate.

To disable the password when resuming from standby or hibernation, open the Power Control Panel and uncheck "Prompt for password after returning from standby" on the Advanced tab.

You can rename multiple files all at once: Select a group of files, right-click the first file, and select "Rename". Type in a name for the first file, and the rest will follow.
-----
Hold down the shift key when switching to thumbnail view to hide the file names.  Do it again to bring them back.
-----
When dragging a file in Explorer, you can control the operation that will be performed when you release the mouse button:

Hold the Control key to force a Copy.

Hold the Shift key to force a Move.

Hold the Alt key to force a Create Shortcut.

If you create a file called Folder.jpg, that image will be used as the thumbnail for the folder.  What's more, that image will also be used as the album art in Windows Media Player for all media files in that folder.

From the View Menu, select "Choose Details" to select which file properties should be shown in the Explorer window. To sort by a file property, check its name in the "Choose Details" in order to make that property available in the "Arrange Icons by" menu.

To display the volume control icon in the taskbar, go to the Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel and select "Place volume icon in the taskbar".

Hold down the shift key when deleting a file to delete it immediately instead of placing it in the Recycle Bin. Files deleted in this way cannot be restored.

If you hold down the shift key while clicking "No" in a Confirm File Operation dialog, the response will be interpreted as "No to All".

To save a document with an extension other than the one a program wants to use, enclose the entire name in quotation marks.  For example, if you run Notepad and save a file under the name

Dr.Z

it will actually be saved under the name Dr.Z.txt.  But if you type

"Dr.Z"

then the document will be saved under the name Dr.Z.  Note that a document so-named cannot be opened via double-clicking since the extension is no longer ".txt".

Put a shortcut to your favorite editor in your Send To folder and it will appear in your "Send To" menu. You can then right-click any file and send it to your editor.

Ctrl+Shift+Escape will launch Task Manager.

To arrange two windows side-by-side, switch to the first window, then hold the Control key while right-clicking the taskbar button of the second window.  Select "Tile Vertically".

To close several windows at once, hold down the Control key while clicking on the taskbar buttons of each window.  Once you have selected all the windows you want to close, right-click the last button you selected and pick "Close Group".

You can turn a folder into a desktop toolbar by dragging the icon of the desired folder to the edge of the screen. You can then turn it into a floating toolbar by dragging it from the edge of the screen into the middle of the screen.  (It helps if you minimize all application windows first.)

You can turn a folder into a taskbar toolbar.

First, unlock your taskbar.

Next, drag the icon of the desired folder to the space between the taskbar buttons and the clock. (Wait for the no-entry cursor to change to an arrow. It's a very tiny space; you will have to hunt for it.)

You can rearrange and resize the taskbar toolbar you just created.

You can even turn the taskbar toolbar into a menu by resizing it until only its name is visible.

In the Address Bar, type "microsoft" and hit Ctrl+Enter.  Internet Explorer automatically inserts the "http://www." and ".com" for you.

To remove an AutoComplete entry from a Web form, highlight the item in the AutoComplete dropdown and press the Delete key.

To remove all Web form AutoComplete entries, go to the Internet Explorer Tools menu, select Internet Options, Content, AutoComplete, then press the "Clear Forms" button.

To organize your Favorites in Explorer instead of using the Organize Favorites dialog, hold the shift key while selecting "Organize Favorites" from the Favorites menu of an Explorer window.

You can organize your Favorites by dragging the items around your Favorites menu.

Alternatively, you can open the Favorites pane and hold the Alt key while pressing the up and down arrows to change the order of your Favorites.

To run Internet Explorer fullscreen, press F11. Do it again to return to normal mode.

If your "Printers and Faxes" folder is empty, you can hide the "Printers and Faxes" icon when viewed from other computers by stopping the Print Spooler service.

To add or remove columns from Details mode, select Choose Details from the View menu, or just right-click the column header bar.

In Internet Explorer, hold the Shift key while turning the mouse wheel to go forwards or backwards.

In Internet Explorer, hold the Shift key while clicking on a link to open the Web page in a new window.

In Internet Explorer, type Ctrl+D to add the current page to your Favorites.

This and many more keyboard shortcuts can be found by going to Internet Explorer, clicking the Help menu, then selecting Contents and Index.  From the table of contents, open Accessibility and click "Using Internet Explorer keyboard shortcuts".

In some applications (such as Internet Explorer), holding the Control key while turning the mouse wheel will change the font size.

To shut down via Remote Desktop, click the Start button, then type Alt+F4.
